[FSPA] Naming of FSPA Sterling location & Web Expertise needed

Silverball Sanctum is cool!

I think I started the initial thing. (I said that I was probably just weird about the SS thing. Anybody who knows me should also know that I probably don't need the word "probably" in front of the word "weird." This has been more public year for Nazis or I probably wouldn't have thought it. Probably.)

But a Shadow on location prolly ain't such a good idea with its typical mechanical issues, and i would not want to move one of my personal Shadow in anyway, however, if anyone has one for sale I would consider it, so hit me up in private email. -Roland

Also, Lloyd Olson has been running SS Billiards in Minnesota for decades with no apparent repercussions, so having SS as an abbreviation shouldn't be an issue. You could always abbreviate to SBS if you wanted to. And Roland, if you name it Silverball Sanctum, perhaps you could put a Shadow pin in there!

> Thanks for suggestions everyone. I am not sure why there is a focus on abbreviations and initials, as I'm not sure when initials need to be used. And SS (Super Sport V8 version) initials have been used on Camaros for 50 years so the Nazi reference isn't really worrisome. And SSB is Silver Strike Bowling, and they actually do use that in the marque on the game The thing about having Sterling in the name is if it ever moves, like to nearby Herndon, the name, website, etc will have to be changed. Not sure that will be a problem though. I also just did a quick search of Sanctum in CT as someone suggested the word Sanctum was already used in pinball terms there, but they do not call themselves Silverball Sanctum, and they are far away, anyway, so nobody is going to be confused. So maybe will stick with Silverball Sanctum, it's kinda edgy and describes the place. Or maybe even combine the suggestions and call it Sterling Silverball Sanctum or is that too long?? -Roland

I appreciate well-meaning criticisms and I admit the naming of the place was simply last on my list of priorities with all that I have to do with the place behind the scenes in this venture, so I have decided to maybe change it wanted to run the name "Silverball Sanctum" by everyone. And if it is that, should Silver & Ball be separate words? (I like it as one word although not grammatically correct). If you have an opinion, good or bad, I would like to hear it. Also, if anyone has any technical experience of how to create/handle/maintain a real-time web opening/closing schedule that everybody can access (since the opening days and times may change with great frequency based on volunteer availability) I would like to know. Thanks. -Roland
