There are 'effective' points awarded for forfeits to determine groupings. You get 2 'effective' points per forfeit, for 8 phantom points used to determine group movement.
This usually results in the forfeiter staying in the group, but not always.

i.e. if there's a 3 player group with 1 set of all forefeits the players who were present would move up or down and the forefeitter would stay in the same group?

if i'm correct about that, i was wondering what happens in a group of 3 with 2 people completely forefeiting?
