Since it’s not IFPA, you could probably experiment with the format as well.  Such as giving byes to C and D division versus extra strikes to keep things moving faster.  Lots of possibilities for alternate formats.

I'm sorry it moved slower than expected, especially in the early rounds.

I'm sure we can speed that up with a few tweaks and handle more folks too.

Next week, we will allow the lower division player (if any) to always pick the game AND go last.

That way, if higher division players are winning, they won't play ball 3.

We had a tournament tonight at Carpool.  There were a lot of entrants.  It was a knockout tournament -- 2 strikes for A division players, 3 strikes for B, 4 strikes for C, and 5 strikes for D.  E division and non-league players received 6 strikes (i think?).  It made for a very long tournament, but i think everyone had fun, and several new players showed up to play their first ever competitive pinball!  (what more could you ask??)  it was definitely awesome!  I hope Jon, Lauren, Danny, and Eric come out to league next season.  all seemed like they'd be kickass additions to the league.

But really the important thing here is that I went undefeated through the whole thing ... zero strikes ...  and won!  i'm not a great player, so yeah, i'm just gonna revel in this for a minute. :)

The venerated Edan Grossman was the last player i eliminated.  Jon Flanders (new up and comer) and Lindsey Most (badasss Carpool mainstay) were third and fourth but i forget which order they ended up in (muchos apologies!)

Many thanks to Paul for organizing this.  I know everyone had a blast.
