[FSPA] Memorial Tournament results

The sixth Paul Giblin (and BorisKitty) Memorial Pinball Tournament was held today in White Marsh and a good time was had by all.  Altogether we raised almost $1300.00 for the American Cancer Society and Defenders of Animal Rights.  Thanks so much for everyone who supported these worthy causes. 

 Anyone who won raffle prizes and wasn’t here I have made arrangements for you to get your prizes.  Thanks to all who contributed prizes and all who purchased raffle tickets, the raffle generated almost half of the total funds.

Now to the tourney results.  After 7 hard fought rounds Joe K emerged as the #1 seed with almost a perfect record of 20 out of 21 possible points.  He advanced to the finals with a bye.  The semi-final was an elimination round where finishers 2nd through 5th played one game to eliminate one player.  Alex J, Julie S and Justin B all advanced to this round but we had a 3 way tie for the last spot.  Sergio J, Mike F and Francis P battled it out on Meteor with Sergio emerging victorious.  Unfortunately for Sergio the victory was short, he lost the elimination round to finish 5th

The 3 game finals were briefly interrupted by the power going out in my neighborhood, probably only the 3rd time in 20 years I have had a power outage, go figure.  Luckily it happened between balls and we were able to salvage the scores and continue on.  Justin, Julie, Alex and Joe K battled it out on WhiteWater, Hobbit and Scared Stiff with Justin decisively taking first with 2 first place and 1 second place finish for a total of 11 points.  Julie edged out Joe K 8 points to 7 for 2nd and 3rd place respectively.  Alex brought up the rear with 4 points to finish 4th.

Congratulations to all our winners and thanks to all who supported me in my memorial to my dear brother Paul (and BorisKitty).
