I take player's and friend's suggestions seriously because I want this to successful as a true pinball players hangout, or sanctum, so I went ahead and adopted some of those suggestions. Some items were already in the works, but getting and keeping the games in good shape was my priority. Even from the start, the name of the place was a change to the original, quickly thought of name, and the idea to change the name was as a result of a suggestion from a league member. The Sanctum is a work in progress and I appreciate all the support!

I had already removed 75% of the tubes prior to opening, but I guess it wasn't enough. So all lights except for the emergency lights above the jukebox will be off. I have also supplemented the lighting with a couple warm light fixtures. I think the lighting, along with the glow from the pinball machines, is just right, and no longer is "too business". It looks much more "casual" and inviting. Let me know what you think when you see it.

Although I have rarely seen all seats utilized on any one night, I went ahead and added more seats now that the drink fridge, snackbar, and video game has been relocated to the back room because now we have more room in the middle area. This also allowed the small high top table to have a chair and moved over slightly for better egress to the small whiteboard. The league piggy bank and sheets will now be one top of the coin changer, to allow a couple people to use the small high top table without people reaching over to drop coins in the piggy bank. I cleaned up the back room and sold the 443-lifetime-play Monopoly that was back there, so there is a room for a small table I hope to bring over Friday, along with 2 or 3 more chairs. I also will have Sling TV back there, which will be put on the live TBS channel (Big Bang Theory, Family Guy, American Dad, etc) for those that want to take a break from pinball (as hard as that is to believe, lol).

Perhaps the above changes will make things more inviting, but really this part is up to everyone in FSPA to make happen. I currently have 5 Pincade Officer volunteers and am willing to have more, so if you want to be one and would like the ability to open/close the place on non-regularly open days/nights, please don't hesitate to volunteer and eMail me off line. You do NOT have to be playing in the current league season to participate as a Pincade Officer. The normal operating hours are Monday 6PM-11PM ...or whenever players feel like leaving. Friday 7:30PM-11PM (or whenever people leave). Sunday 1PM - 5PM. We have tried to focus the days and nights to just a few in hopes that there will be more people to play pinball and socialize with, and not conflict with other area local VA league nights (Fairfax Carpool). Please come out and support pinball and the Sanctum on these days!
