Good evening Mustang pinball league players.
If you are receiving this email, you either played in our
league previously, signed up for this upcoming season, or expressed
interest in our league and want to learn more about it. If you would like
to be removed from this mailing list, please let me know and I will honor
your request. In general, I will keep the e-mail volume down to the
essentials such as league announcements and critical updates.
*Registration*
You can pre-register for the 2024 Fall season here
<https://forms.gle/NmDDT656mDZ32LUr9> (I am using a new form for
this season, let's see how it works). Just fill out the form. This helps
with preparing for the first week of league, but is not required.
*Schedule*
Week 0 is September 10th for meet and greet, and to get familiar with the
games. (You may also complete preplays this week. Completely optional)
Week 1 is September 17th. (First official week of this season)
Start time on Week 1 is 7:30pm. We ask players to try and arrive by 7:15pm
so we can properly account for all players. We will likely get started
around 7:45pm.
*Dues*
$30 – normal dues
$0 – first time Mustang Sally players dues (operators pay the $30)
We start taking dues on week 1, not week 0.
*Summary*
All players will have the opportunity to compete for A division placement
by playing against random opponents for league points in the initial week
and then grouped together using the swiss method. Subsequently, players
will be seeded into initial divisions, and our traditional "ladder"
movement will resume for the rest of the season.
*Details*
1. First 4 weeks of league will comprise a random grouping for week 1
followed by swiss groupings for week 2 through 4. The swiss component will
attempt to avoid players being grouped against significantly higher or
lower skilled players.
2. Week 5 will be grouped based on overall points from best 3 of the
first 4 weeks of league (drop the lowest score).
3. Weeks 5 through 10 will continue to use the ladder system, so winning
moves a player up a group, and losing drops them down a group.
4. Divisions will be determined at the end of week 8 using the average
ladder position, like how divisions are determined now.
Any questions, feel free to reach out directly to me at edan at fspazone.org.
Thanks, and looking forward to this season of pinball at Mustang Sally.
