Summer is here, and that means another league season at VÜK Pinball! Come out for some IFPA sanctioned competitive pinball with 40 games and all that stuff!
We meet on Tuesdays at 7:30pm at VÜK Pinball, nestled snugly between Trader Joe's above and the Metro below at Chevy Chase Pavilion, 5335 Wisconsin Ave, Washington, DC.
Competition starts with Week 1 on June 16th, and finals are scheduled for August 11th. Dues will be $30, or $15 for players new to competitive pinball. All of the money collected goes to the prize pool! The egregious IFPA fees are on us.
This time we're going to use balanced groups for the entire season, and we'll be dropping the two lowest scores. This should give a little more flexibility to folks with the Summer vacations and whatnot. At the end of Week 8, assuming we have more than 20 players 🤞🤞🤞, we'll divide up into divisions based on the number of players (probably two, but if we have 40 or more players three). The top 8 in each division will go to finals.
Schedule:Week 1 - June 16thWeek 2 - June 23rdWeek 3 - June 30thWeek 4 - July 7thWeek 5 - July 14thWeek 6 - July 21stWeek 7 - July 28thWeek 8 - August 4thFinals - August 11th
As always, most of the games at VÜK will be eligible for league play, and they're only 50 cents a game and just a quarter for EMs. Each week we’ll be playing games from the early 70s to the 2020s with the 1980s pricing! That's still your best coin drop value in the area.
VÜK Pinball is located right above the Friendship Heights Metro station, which is pretty convenient on rainy or snowy days. However, plan your Metro trips carefully: Due to Puce Line construction, commuters from the Shady Grove side of things will face some bus detours starting July 6th. Maybe you should consider parking in the streets around the mall for free on weeknights after 6:30, or you can pay a King's ransom to park in the building. Or just live nearby and walk.
See you there!_______________________________________________
