<div>Most would argue being moved up is not being rewarded... as he will have to play tougher competition (on average) than if he did not move up.</div><div><br></div><div>The effective points are in fact doing this exact thing... preventing players from artificially playing in lower groups than they should be (and thus gaining an advantage).</div><div><br></div><div>Remember, while Tim moved up... he still got no league points for that game. So the net effect is he moves up with LESS league points. </div><div><br></div><div>Effective points are for group movement only. Hmmm... in what situation do you think they should apply, if not that situation? For the games he played, Tim averaged 3 points per game, while you averaged 2.5 points per game... why would it be more fair to leave him in a lower (nominally easier) group next week when he performed that strongly?<br clear="none">
