Not a ton of responses though so far, so please keep the opinions coming or it will be assumed that most of you are perfectly fine with the way things are going… :)<div><br></div><div>In regards to the party, a lot of the feedback so far is that a commercial location doesn’t have the draw that a home party does. Understandable, however one of the goals for the party as originally designed was to give people a chance to meet others from different leagues. Is it better to have a smaller home party with people you know already or a commercial location where you have larger capacity but are seeing the same ole games you may have played in league?</div><div><br></div><div>@dave I’m intrigued by your comment about attending when the party is “interesting” again. Can you expand on that? What would make it interesting to you?</div><div><br></div><div>Thanks!</div><div>Sergio<br><div><br></div><div><br id="lineBreakAtBeginningOfSignature"><div dir="ltr">Sent from my iPhone</div><div dir="ltr"><br><blockquote type="cite">On May 8, 2024, at 1:03 PM, Dave Hubbard via FSPA <fspa@fspazone.org> wrote:<br><br></blockquote></div><blockquote type="cite"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div>1) I'll offer the same thought as I have many times previously: turn the "party" into opt-in. Make league dues $30, or $40 if you want the party. I bet most people would choose the $30. I'll gladly pay $20 to attend as a guest if/when the parties are actually interesting again.</div><div><br></div><div>2) In order to express an opinion on keeping the new format, one needs to know what that is. Where is it documented? Why is the FSPA website so horribly out of date? People were talking about tweaks and modifications as the season went on, so this seems rather fluid at the moment. I say finalize your proposal, THEN send it out for comments.</div><div><br></div><div>3) My message to the execs would be: make me believe the FSPA is relevant. Right now, it feels very much like independent leagues all doing their own thing, and I would wager many players associate more with the location than the FSPA. By way of example, I suspect more Carpool players think of themselves as playing in the Carpool League, rather than the FSPA League at Carpool. Independent leagues in the area exist and are thriving. I think it's time to re-sell the idea.</div><div><br></div><div> --- Dave<br></div></div><div id="DAB4FAD8-2DD7-40BB-A1B8-4E2AA1F9FDF2"><br><table style="border-top:1px solid #d3d4de"><tbody><tr><td style="width:55px;padding-top:13px"><a href="https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail" target="_blank"><img src="https://s-install.avcdn.net/ipm/preview/icons/icon-envelope-tick-round-orange-animated-no-repeat-v1.gif" alt="" width="46" height="29" style="width: 46px; height: 29px;" data-unique-identifier=""></a></td><td style="width:470px;padding-top:12px;color:#41424e;font-size:13px;font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;line-height:18px">Virus-free.<a href="https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail" target="_blank" style="color:#4453ea">www.avast.com</a></td></tr></tbody></table><a href="#DAB4FAD8-2DD7-40BB-A1B8-4E2AA1F9FDF2" width="1" height="1"></a></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Wed, May 8, 2024 at 11:27 AM Sergio Johnson via FSPA <<a href="mailto:fspa@fspazone.org">fspa@fspazone.org</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex">Hey folks!<br>
<br>
As FSPA continues to evolve, we’re reviewing some long standing traditions, new format etc. and interested in getting your feedback on a couple things. Love to get your feedback either in this thread or sent to me directly if you’re more comfortable with that. <br>
<br>
1) End of season party. This started as an opportunity to see other folks collections and get to know people from other leagues. With the growth in size of the leagues it no longer became feasible to do at private homes, so we’d moved to commercial league locations. However, we’ve noticed that a lot of folks don’t take advantage of it now. Is it time to lose the party, modify it or continue “as is”?<br>
<br>
2) What did you think of the revised league play format? A lot of the changes were driven by IFPA rules to allow our leagues to stay compliant so that players could continue to get WPPR player ranking points. Do you think the new format was better for you or worse? Keep the new format, modify it or consider going back to the old format? <br>
<br>
3) Anything else you would like to bring to the execs attention that would improve your league experience or want to make us aware of? <br>
<br>
Appreciate all your engagement and feedback, we can’t do this without the players so please let us know what you think!<br>
<br>
Thanks!<br>
Sergio<br>
