[Gaming] 2017-10-8 Gaming group meet-up notes and results

at my house in Bel Air

The first game played was wings of glory. The Jonkes played Axis and Rich
and Steve Played Allies.

Rich went down somewhat early to a shot that caused an explosion and wings
veteran Steve P. was left to try to defend against the forces of evil

Steve P managed to take down Steve J with a lucky high damage shot leaving
the wounded vet against the unproven novice pilot Emmett.

after a few passes trading damage Steve P's experience one the day - with
only one damage point to spare after the final salvo


The second game played was Mercs Recon, which is basically (coop) rainbow
six the board game.

For the first game we played as the very well-armored CCC faction tasked
with emptying a building of enemy forces by any means necessary.

we successfully cleaned house and completed the mission.

Mercs Recon has a long setup time and a steep learning curve so we played
again.

So the third game was again Mercs Recon, but this time playing as the
honorable Kezai Waza Faction.

The mission required we find an open terminal to access enemy data and then
extract. We were well on our way but an unfortunate run-in with 2 Security
forces with Shotguns left Steve J's Merc trapped in a room with an
impassable destroyed hallway right outside. As such we were unable to
fulfill the condition for this mission that all surviving mercs be
extracted. The pizza had just arrived so it was good timing for a premature
loss :)

The final game we played was Escape the Curse of the Temple.

In the first game we explored quickly but failed to effectively work
together to get rid of cursed gems and ended up sealed in the temple forever

in the second game we almost made it out but with 2 of us in the final room
and the other three only a room or two away we ran out of time and lost
again.
