Joe:

Burtonsville Crossing shopping center cleared out and most moved across the street to the new Burtonsville Town Center. Only a couple of stores left a Chinese Place, Starbucks with Burger King in the lot. I don't know the plans for the shopping center in the future and on the web site has a number 877-775-3462. The web also has old photo's with the Giant Food still there but it moved across the street with a Roy's and Green Turtle. Plenty of different size stores and plenty of parking. I did sent a note a few years back to David Silverman about this shopping center when I heard he was closing the Museum in Baltimore, but don't know if he ever checked it out. Last time I drove by there as far as I remember there is a for lease sign up.

Has a site location/concept like this ever been considered?

www.starfightersarcade.com

Yes. Quite a number of pinball leagues/clubs around the country have a "clubhouse" like that, and I'd love to be able to host an FSPA location in the same way. I've kept an eye open for commercial units for years... unfortunately, real estate prices in the DC/Baltimore metropolitan area are stupidly high. Trying to find the combination of "acceptable price" (considering lease + insurance + power + misc) and "located vaguely close to anyone or anything" and "has enough parking to host a regional tournament" and several other attributes has been like finding a unicorn. Still, the search goes on, and maybe someday we'll stumble into a place.
