[FSPA] MOM’s Fall 2019 Playoff Results!

Playoffs == Excitement, and Monday’s at MOM's did not disappoint! Snazzy
trophies and prizes were awarded!

A Division
1st: Joe Kosack - 17 pts
2nd: Fil Baird - 12 pts
3rd: Jose Chong - 6 pts (hth)
4th: George Peran - 6 pts
There’s nothing quite like a division that finishes in seed order! As is
his wont, Joe dominated out of the gate with a 4 on Scared Stiiiiff, and
continued sinking 4 pointers throughout the night. If not for the courage
of the fearless Fil, Joe wouldn’t have lost… but Fil edged out Joe on the
Munsters. Fil also make quick work of Jose on Game of Thrones, getting to
Hand of the King on ball 1 and finishing with over a billion. Jose and
George fought bravely, but going into the final game on Game of Thrones the
only Greyjoy was in Joe’s game… his 1.7 bills was ten times the other
players’ scores combined.

B Division
1st: Stephanie “The Widowmaker” Traub - 19 pts
2nd: John Locke - 10 pts
3rd: Rob Thomas PhD - 8 pts
4th: John “I’m not even supposed to be here today” Mucciardi - 3 pts
For someone who complained about not getting any game picks, Stephanie
crushed B Division like tiny bugs named John and Rob. Mooch was the only
player who had the temerity to not have his point stolen by the
Traublemaker. Rob managed to win his other head-to-head matches, but John
Locke earned a playoff Covering the Bases badge to edge him out.

C Division
1st: Mac McCubbin II - 12 pts
2nd: Kevin Walton - 11 pts
3rd: Dave Roth - 9 pts
4th: Tom Kenyon - 8 pts
There’s nothing quite like a division that finishes in reverse seed order!
Kevin took a 4 in the opening round on Batman by just 6,700 points and won
his head-to-head against Dave on Simpsons, but then Tom and Mac proceeded
to beat him up and steal his points. Meanwhile, recovering from a stinging
3rd place start, Mac came out swinging and won all of his h-t-h matches.
For the final game on Genie, Kevin came through with another 4 to win the
three-way tie for second, but Mac was numerically guaranteed 1st place.

D Division
1st: Jody Limbacher - 14 pts
2nd: Jami Dennis - 10 pts
3rd: Courtney Miller - 8 pts (hth)
4th: Marion Dehn - 8 pts
D featured three brand new players and one in her first playoff! Starting
on Scared Stiiiiff — yes, all four divisions started on just two games 😥 —
Jody came out with methaphorical guns blazing. Courtney had a tough start,
won her first two head-to-heads, but then she hit the Jody wall. Jami stole
a point in 2nd on Stiff, but lost the next two rounds. He recovered
somewhat in the home stretch with a h-t-h 3 and another point stealing 2nd.
Meanwhile, Jody appeared unstoppable… until one man rose up: Marion. Yes,
her own... husband? Partner? Life mate? I’m not sure what their
relationship is exactly. But the point is, he turned the tables on her and
stole her point in the final game on Munsters.


And there you have it! Another season goes into the record books.

Be sure to join us in less than two months for the Spring 2020 season! Week
0 is on MLKJr Day, January 20th, and the season starts a week later. It
will be lit! Quite possibly turnt up! It could very well be off the hook,
but I can’t guarantee that. Irregardless, be there! Aloha.
