We have discussed this before.

Grouping points are not the same as FSPA Match Point

Frank has 8 grouping points
Lauren has 14
Steve has 7
Audrey has 3

Hence Frank and Lauren move up

Grouping points are match points plus 2 points per forfeit, Match Bonus
points are not used for grouping.

Theory:
Each player brings 2 points to a match, non players bring nothing, but for
grouping we pretend that all players in the group bring 2, which non
players keep, and players swap around. If you keep 2 points then you are
average, hence non players stay average.

This keeps things a little more steady over time as non players are not
moved into benificial situations too often.

IE, they tend to stay where they are or move up, instead of moving down
always.
