[FSPA] Carpool Pinball Fall League season starts tomorrow - Sept 19 2022 (week 1)

The time has arrived, and week 1 starts tomorrow at Carpool in Arlington for the Fall season.

Here is information as well as a roster of players that have confirmed they are playing.  If anyone else is planning on playing, please email me at pinball at kevinsplanet.com<mailto:pinball at kevinsplanet.com> to get on the roster.  It helps reduce setup time for week 1 when we know everyone that is coming.  However, someone will walk in, so we are prepared to adjust and get things started as soon as possible.

Please arrive no later than 7:45pm to ensure you have a spot. We will probably start after 8 due to the way it takes time to hand write in the groups for week 1 (and usually week 2).

Dues are $40 for returning players, and $20 for players brand new to FSPA leagues.  We will start collecting tomorrow night as well at 7:30pm.  We try to get dues first week.

Based on the number of players and machines, we will likely use a different method of order for playing games.  I'll explain in more detail before we start tomorrow, but we'll have a whiteboard setup on one of the pool tables closest to all pins.  We'll have each machine name written down.  Groups will start on their first game with exception of first few groups who will be queued up on their first games.  Once a group is done, they then write their group number under the next game they are waiting to play.  It can be the 2nd, 3rd or 4th game on your score sheet.  You can also change this if another game opens up on your score sheet and no one else is already in queue for that game.  It worked well at Mighty Mike's a few years back, and with more player groups than games, we'll look to use this method.

Basic Rules:

  *   Choice of order for first game is last player on the sheet, followed by second to last, etc.  Subsequent games are the same but based on last place in previous game, then next to last, etc.
  *   Players can play one extra ball.  If a second extra ball (or more) are earned, the player must plunge that ball, but may setup skill shots ahead of time.  Once you plunge, you may not touch the game again unless you need to re-plunge.
  *   Playing out of turn will result in a DQ (forfeit of 0 points).
  *   Interfering with another group (playing their ball or tilting their game) will also result in a DQ.  Don't slide save games and this shouldn't be a problem.
  *   League is about having fun with pinball and meeting new friends.  Remember to "Stay cool, Daddy-O!" (From Creature From the Black Lagoon).
