Format
IFPA Certified Event
Value calculated at 200% for big points towards Virginia State championship!

Qualifying
Best 8 scores out of 12 games.  Unlimited attempts during the 20 hours of qualifying.  No additional entry fees or coin drop, only cost is the main entry fee.

Finals
Main finals: Top 24 qualifiers with top 8 receiving a first round bye.  Format is a PAPA 3-game matches, scoring 4/2/1/0 with top 2 players advancing to the next round.  Check-in for all players required by 11am.

Novice finals:  Next 8 players above 5000 rating in IFPA are eligible to play in the novice finals.  Same format but will start at 12pm on Sunday.  Check-in for all players required by 12pm.

Pre-Registration and Entry Fee
Entry Fee:  $75 pre-registration through Wednesday, April 17th at midnight, $80 on-site (cash only)

Pre-register here with your name and email address.  You will receive an email with payment information, and must pay by Wednesday, April 17th at midnight to receive the discounted price.

Refunds:  Full refund available through the event if you are unable to attend.  Just respond to payment email requesting a refund.

Schedule
Friday, April 19th

  *   2:30pm:  Doors open for tournament (normal opening at 4pm)
  *   3pm-11pm:  On-site registration is available
  *   3pm:  Qualifying begins
  *   12am:  Qualifying ends (player on machine at 12am is last to play)
Saturday, April 20th

  *   10:30am:  Doors open for volunteers (normal opening at 12pm)
  *   11:00am-11:45am:  Last shift scorekeeper special qualifying
  *   11:45am-1pm:  All shift scorekeeper special qualifying
  *   1pm-6pm:  On-site registration is available
  *   1pm:  Qualifying begins
  *   12am:  Qualifying ends (player on machine at 12am is last to play)
Sunday, April 21st

  *   10:30am:  Doors open for finalists and alternates
  *   10:45-11am:  Check-ins (must check-in by 11am)
  *   11:00am:  First round begins
  *   5-6pm:  Estimated end of finals

Scorekeeper Volunteers
We need volunteers for scorekeeping.  Benefits of scorekeeping is a special 1 hour 15 minute qualifying time on Saturday morning.  Volunteers in the later shifts (5pm+) on Saturday receive an extra 45 minutes for total of 2 hours of qualifying.  Each scorekeeper session is 2 hours long.  Scorekeepers will be provided a hi-res vest and a tablet for entering scores.  It's very easy to learn and use the tablet during your session.

Tentative Game List
Games will be set with no ball save, no extra balls, medium-to-tight tilt, and outlane post rubber removed - games on free play during tournament, coin-drop after qualifying done each night.

Location Details
Address:  Carpool, 900 N Glebe Rd, Arlington, VA 22203
Layout:  Pinball in the back, with non-tourney / backup games near front bar.  Bathrooms in the middle of the location.
Food/Drink:  Location serves a lot of good sports bar food, and plenty of drinks.  Water will be available on back bar.
Entry:  Front door or lobby door.
Directions:  Easiest way to get there is off of route 66 onto Fairfax Dr driving eastbound, or Glebe Road driving westbound.  Ballston-MU metro stop is also available and is 7-8 minute walk.

Parking
Carpool building:  Located behind building off of 9th street ($7-12 / day)
Ballston Mall: 627 N. Glebe Rd.  24 hours, max $10 / day, 5-8 minute walk to Carpool
Street Parking:  Only 2 hour parking, not recommended
SP+ Parking:  Expensive hotel parking, not recommended

A variety of hotels are located within walking distance of Carpool, prices vary:
