[FSPA] Silverball Sanctum week 0 reminder

Matt- I am not at liberty to get into that kind of detail, but I would say it is just one reason to buy and support local dealers that have been around a long time (especially those that offer discounts to FSPA members), but it doesn't even have to be me, can be any dealer that is local.  Local supports local, and it is often hard to get satisfaction or support from some dealer hundreds of miles away, whether it be play field issues or other.  There is one FSPA'er that waited about a half a year for a replacement play field for a Stern Premium or LE that had very obvious scratching.  I would have been feverishly advocating for him to Stern if he had gotten that game from me.  And just like when VUK had serious expensive problems with a Stern Premium, I kept hounding Stern and finally got him over $400 of labor for repairs at no cost to the owner, when the factory warranty does not cover labor.  Same thing with a Jersey Jack game, I got the owner about $200.  I support my customers because they support me, and I try to look after them if I were to get inside information that others may or may not be privy to.  Having said that, I think Stern is generally doing a decent job on most fronts and enjoy my good relationship with them.

Roland,
Who informed you of the hold-up due to playfield quality issues?  Zach Sharpe went on record about it and was quoted by TWIP "No widespread issues here at Stern, can’t speak for other manufacturers though.  If anyone does have any issues with their games though they should definitely be reaching out to their dealer or distributor."

Jurassic Park has been held up slightly until approx Week 1 because of Play Field quality issues (possible clear coat post pooling & chipping clear coat ..see thread on Pinside).  Just as I try to look after my FSPA-discounted sales customers so they don't get one from a random or bad batch (remember the Ghostbusters play field issues?), in this it is ME that is the end "customer", ha, so I want to make sure I get a good one for Silverball Sanctum at Lost Rhino.  Taking off a play field and sending it to Stern and reinstalling is not a fun experience.

Good luck to everyone, thanks for your participation, and enjoy the Lost Rhino food, pizza, beer, and even their brewed Root Beer!  More changes in pin lineup to come, as Edan mention in his email a week or so ago!   -Roland

Quick reminder that week 0 of Silverball Sanctum at Lost Rhino is tonight from 7-9pm.
We may have a few new players there who are considering joining the league.  If you spot them, by all means make them feel welcome.
Also, a photographer for Ashburn Magazine will be there to take pictures for an upcoming article in the November-December issue of that magazine.  (Bonus points if you wear your FSPA T-shirts today.)
The editor for that story may or may not arrive later tonight, however he will be there next week for our week 1.  He may want to briefly talk to a few league players who are also Ashburn residents.
I'm looking forward to seeing you all there tonight.
